Want a warmer beach when Lake Michigan water is too cold? Harbour Towne Beach often misspelled as Harbor Town is just a hop, skip and a jump around past the U.S.S. Silversides, Docker’s Restaurant and around to the backside of Muskegon Lake. If your GPS stops you at USS Silversildes, just keep driving to the end of the road. A shallow beach with quick drop-offs so pay attention to the water markers. This area is also a good choice fishing and calm wave kite and windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and other small water craft sports. Parking lot must be used instead of culdesac and a porta-potty is usually found on site during the summer season. This beach is very popular for ice fishing in the winter months. Boat access can be made by docking at Harbour Towne Marina or Docker’s restaurant.
